Beginning this week, I’ll be taking a short blog break. See you again soon!
Good morning, Marian! That looks like something my kids would have set up–and there would have been a big story to go with it. Peaceful scene to me is outdoors–a quiet morning.
Our kids did the same with set-ups–usually more props and always a (long-winded) story. Not surprisingly, our kids have become creative as adults too.
You have the photos to prove your walks on quiet mornings. Thanks, Merril! π
You’re welcome, Marian! π
Beautiful picture. A sleeping baby is as peaceful a pose as you’re ever going to get. π΄
Yes, the cradle rocked many sleeping babies in its time. Thanks, Fatima. π
Enjoy filling your well.
Thank you very much, Arlene! π
Marian β For me, a peaceful scene is flowers. They can be cut flowers in a vase or flowers growing outside. Either way, for me, they signify peace. Enjoy your time away.
I see fresh flowers often in your writing space via Facebook. You even have bright pink painted flowers on your wall. Obviously, they inspire creativity, Laurie. π
Enjoy your break, Marian! My peaceful scene is my reading nook next to an open window, birds singing, of course.
Perfect!
And thanks for the good wishes, Liz. π
You’re welcome, Marian!
Iβm with Liz, above! I love to look out my big window into the back yard, hear the birds sing, see the flowers, have a book close at hand. Our nearby lake with all its bird life and me sitting on a bench observing it is complete peacefulness!
Nature nourishes, I do agree! Enjoy springtime in Manitoba, Elfrienda! π
Enjoy your break, Marian…I’m off to the Uk tomorrow for a month …looking forward to doing some visiting and catching up with family and friends hopefully some reading time as well π
You need a break too, Carol, putting out daily posts + the cooking and baking that goes with them. How you do it, I don’t know!
Enjoy the British Isles, which probably still feels family to you. Safe travels! π
I do and I am looking forward to letting my children cook for me… The posts will still go out daily as I have scheduled ahead… Something I will continue to do as now I have achieved that it frees up more time… Yes I am looking forward to seeing the changes that I am sure there will be.. Enjoy your break, Marian ππ» x
Your children cooking for you: a capital idea! Get the generations involved, I say. Also, good idea to schedule ahead. I do that all the time, so I feel less pressure. Thanks for the follow-up here, Carol!
Hiking in one of our nearby redwood forests is a peaceful setting and gives me opportunities to think. Enjoy your break, wherever you may be, Marian.
You’ve just enjoyed a time to recharge. I’m not sure it was particularly restful, but it was a change. I’ll begin with some a medical procedure (not serious) and then maybe a trip to the mountains. Thanks, Pete!
I find the sea peaceful, even when it’s not. Have a lovely break. xo
The waves, calm or stormy, have a rhythm. I think writers like to respond to that. Thanks for the insight, Darlene! π
Enjoy your blog break. They can be therapeutic. Will miss you, though. Bet you come back invigorated ready to rumble, blog-style.
I wish I could say that I’m flying to Dubai, or some other exotic place. . . even cooler, but I’m not. Instead, I will have eye surgery beginning next week, both eyes in succession. Of course, I can’t be staring at a computer screen very long, so it made sense just to take a break, both from posting my own and reading other blogs.
Thanks for the good wishes, Ally! π
Good luck. Stay healthy!
All of them! π Sometimes I wish I could be a teddy bear. Or a dog (called Maya). π Enjoy your blogging break! Are you going on a trip?
I sense you love animals as much as my daughter did. . . and still does. Like you, she feels as much, if not more, companionship with her kitties, her dog, and (when she was a teen), it was horses.
When you read my reply to Ally above you’ll find I’m not going on a vacation, but I do hope to return with better vision. Thanks for your concern, Liesbet! π
Wishing you smooth, quick, and restorative surgeries, Marian! It will be a bit scary, I’m sure, but I have confidence all will go well. My eyes have been deteriorating big time as well and I have a feeling surgery is in my future, too. Thinking about you – now and next week. π
Thanks for the good wishes and follow-up here. Those that have had a similar surgery say it is a breeze, but I don’t like the idea of anyone messing with my eyes–even experts. You are so sweet to care, Liesbet! ((( )))
This is so cute. Have a wonderful break, Marian.
Teddy bears fit into your menagerie, both fondant and fictional, Robbie! π
I love teddy bears, Marian, and have quite a few of them in my home.
Love the picture π Enjoy your break, Marian!
Thanks, Barbara! π
You deserve a break and you’ll return full of energy and new ideas. May life be sweet.
Even from afar your good wishes ring true. Right now I’m just tired, but I trust the energy and new ideas will come, as you predict, Elaine. ((( )))
That cradle is a beautiful piece of “peaceful” work created for babies and teddy bears. Thinking of you as you undergo eye surgery. May all turn out well, and your sight be as clear and bright as your words and stories. xo
Pam, I just read your email and now this: Thanks for the double good wishes, so appreciated.
That cradle has been in the Longenecker family for a long, long time, over a century, I’m sure. after Grandma L. was done with rocking my dad and my aunt in the rocker, it was taken to Bossler Mennonite Church, where it put hundreds of babies to sleep–and quieted the fussy ones. I must have taken my turn in this cradle too. So happy to see you in this column again, Pam. Huge thanks! π
Now that is a rockinβ rocker!!
Rock-a-bye baby π
Enjoy your break Marian. π
You certainly know the value of breaks. Thanks, Debby. π
My granddaughters would love these Teddies. Enjoy your break, Marian!
You’re kind to notice. My break involves eye procedures, so it’s a mixed bag of blessing and challenge. Thanks, Miriam!
I need to have eye procedures eventually in a year or two. I hope everything turns out fine with you, Marian!
Many thanks — and good wishes when your time comes! ((( )))
You’re welcome and thank you for your good wishes! π
