At the initiation of Anna Jarvis
President Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation in 1914
declaring Mother’s Day an official holiday.
Although It takes place on the second Sunday in May in the USA,
Mother’s Day is also celebrated internationally on different dates.
Your mother may be gone, as my is, but perhaps you have an aunt, a sister, a daughter, even a grandmother, who may appreciate a dive into the 1950s and 1960s, the setting of my memoir, Mennonite Daughter: The Story of a Plain Girl. You can find a link for the book here, now offered at a special price.
