Good morning, Marian! Funny and nice teamwork. š
Teamwork? Of course! Thanks for noticing, Merril!
Wasn’t it? That’s the first thing that popped into my head. š
That’s why I like blog comments–filling in the gaps! Thanks again, Merril.
You’re welcome. š
Delightful! Reminds me of that video years ago with the twins standing by the fridge talking to each other in a way that only they could understand! šš
I loved that video, L. Marie! š
L. Marie and Jill, I missed the video, but I looked it up on YouTube. So funny! Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gocFvDFFT4
So fun. Thanks for finding. They are eleven years old now. Wonder how often they watch this.
Ha! Shirley, they are probably getting into more mischief as pre-teens now. š
Haha, a nice way to start my day. Teamwork is important!
Yes indeed, Arlene! š
Sweet!
We made it! Welcome aboard The Polar Expressš
Carolyn, your caption wins FIRST PRIZE! Of course, it couldn’t be anything better. Right? š
That looks like my one daughter’s refrigerator …. but I won’t give any of my grandsons the idea….
Oh, do forward this to your daughters. They are smart enough not to share it with their little boys. Thanks, Melodie! š
ha ha! So dear and adventurous!
Yes, Susan. I don’t think their mom has a weight problem. She probably stays trim keeping up with their antics. š
Hi, Marian,
I was going to ask if those were your twin grandsons, but then I saw the credit from the New Yorker. Too funny.

I’m glad this photo brightened up your day, Pat! š
Pat, sorry. Normally comments show up without my having to moderate them, especially since you are a frequent commenter. Not sure what’s going on, but I did delete the other reply.
Well, as they say, twins are double trouble!
But they will be each other’s closest friend. . . probably! Thanks, Liz. š
You just said it, but I was thinking that these are the moments that will always keep them close! They are adorable. š
Yes, they are adorable, but I imagine their parents think they are a lot to keep up with. Thanks for tuning in, Melanie! š
Although in my immediate family of 8 siblings there were no twins, three of my siblings had identical twin girls! The one set was especially rowdy. My mother babysat two pairs of twins plus their sister and Iām sure at times they did exactly what these two in your post are doing!
With your comment, Elfrieda, we have a bonafide family twin story. At this season of my life, I couldn’t imagine all the energy it would require to take care of a set of “double blessings.” Thank you!
I was an only child until my mother gave birth to twin girls, a couple of months before my seventh birthday. When they came home from the hospital, our mother handed one of the twins to me and showed me how to bottle feed her, burp her, change her diapers, and rock her to sleep. So I became a full-time substitute mother at the age of not-quite seven, during the days and hours when I did not have to be in school. Fun! š
Wow! Seven is a young age to learn mothering skills, but you say it was fun. Your mother managed the double duty creatively, and you seem to have enjoyed it.
My brother was born was I was twelve. I became a “junior mother” too, diapering, feeding and burping. I say in my first memoir that Mark was my first baby.
Thanks for adding your story to the chat here, Linda Lee! š
Oh this is fabulous!! They are a dynamic duo.
That’s the perfect description. Thanks, Rebecca! š
Teamwork at its finest! What a hoot.
I was curious about the date of the photo. The New Yorker article I found this in used the phrase “several years ago” when the writer documented the picture of twins Miles and Major. I’m guessing they are using teamwork to get into major trouble now as five- or six-year-olds. Thanks, Ally. š
I can’t wait for some of these moments. Our son is marrying in June, and I’m looking forward to being a grandparent.
Pete, you and Debbie will absolutely LOVE it. You can anticipate the births and plan fun times together as we did with our four grands. Since they were very young, we planned mystery trips like the one here: https://marianbeaman.com/2017/12/06/our-un-mystery-trip-cumberland-island/
No pressure. . . we’re getting a little ahead of the game, you know. Ha!
All the best in the new adventure with your son venturing into marriage and all that goes with it. š
Double trouble! Love it!
I know it!
Thanks, Carol! š
Hi Marian, this is an adorable picture.
I agree–and so do other commenters here. Have a wonderful weekend, Robbie! š
Iād say they are most definitely partners in crime š¤£š¤£
Cherryx
That’s the perfect phrase, Cherry. Huge thanks! š
Oh, they are so cute!!! I had a G-Daughter who loved to get in the refrigerator too; hard to keep her out of it. She’s an adult now and married and I don’t know if she still raids hers or not…LOL!!!
That’s so interesting. Maybe your grand-daughter is an excellent cook now, raiding the fridge for tasty food. Good to hear from you today! š
The video is charming and I love their private conversation and mirrored dance. I’m sure they’ve continued to find ways to get into mischief and scare their parents. Blessings as the days grow longer.
Blessings to you too as the days grow longer, and we both inch closer to our book releases in 2023. I enjoy your comment here and your lovely shots of nature’s slow awakening on Facebook. Thanks, Elaine! š
I think they’ve done that before! Great picture š
You know, I think you are right. Ha! They DO look experienced, Barbara! š
